A Stroke happens when the blood flow to the brain gets interrupted.

Don't take chances with your health, know the signs and symtoms of

a Stroke . View the acronym F.A.S.T for Stroke and make sure the ABC  are present. The ABC: Airway, Breathing, and Circulation

The acronym F.A.S.T

  • FACE-facial numbness or weakness, especially on one side.
  • ARM- arm numbness or weakness, especially on one side.
  • SPEECH- slurred speech or difficulty speaking or understanding.
  • Time-time is imprtant; call 911 immediately.

Other signs and symtoms include:

  • a sudden,severe headache
  • dizziness  or confusion
  • sudden loss of  bladder control
  • unconsciousness or temporary loss of consciousness

A heart attack or cardiac arrest can happen anywhere: home, work or out in the public. If you saw a family member unconscious and not breathing, would you know what to do?

According to a new poll released by the Canadian Red Cross, many people say they would not feel confident enough to attempt CPR.

Take time out to  learn how to perform the CPR skills. It's not difficult to learn and it could save a life .

Immediate and effective CPR skills  when used in conjunction with an AED (automated external defibrillator) can double a persons chance of survival.

First Aid/CPR/AED is a life saving skill that you can take with you anywhere, anytime and perform  the necessary First Aid skills to save a life. Take a First Aid course and know what to do.
